DX1AFP was formed thru the efforts of Jose Talens VE6JNT, due to the need of amateurs and the growing population of a comeback district 1 amateurs—among them is DU1NC Chito Campos, Chairman for Legal Affairs. With the said group, and with the ideals of Joey and chito, DX2AFP was commissioned by NTCR1 by then OIC Jovita Chongco on February 8, 2021 with approved repeater station in Mount Salsalamagi Vintar, Ilocos Norte. Then later on with some clamor of 35 members of the club, the VHF repeater was activated in December of 2021.
